Andersonville Man Charged in Deadly I-75 Crash

Whitley County, KY (WVLT) - The man police say was driving drunk when he caused a deadly accident in Whitley County, Kentucky is from East Tennessee.

The crash happened at about 9:00 p.m. Monday night on I-75 in Whitley County, Kentucky, just north of the Tennessee border.

Kentucky State Police say Raymond Garner of Andersonville was driving drunk when he lost control of his pick-up truck, crossed the median, and hit three other vehicles.

Two people died and one of the victims was pregnant.

At least five other people were hurt, several of them children.

There is no word on their conditions.

Raymond Garner wasn't seriously hurt in the crash.

Police have now charged him with three counts of murder and drunk driving.

The crash shut down both directions of I-75 in the area for several hours.

Both directions are now reopened.

This was a real tragedy, My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims. This man should be put in prison for life. Not only did he take the life of 2 people, but also a baby that didn't even have a chance!!! Shame on the drunk man!!! You know, instead of putting higher taxes on cigarettes, why don't they tax alcohol like crazy??? Alcohol is what is killing people on the roads, not cigarettes!!!! My sincerest sympathy for the families.

What are we going to do about these crazy dangerous drivers out here. I have had four (yes, count them) incidents with crazy people on the road that ended up in near confrontations and/or wrecks. I have two two year old girls that are with me almost anytime i leave my home. I don't know what i would do if I lost one or both of them. It is almost becoming scary to drive! The incidents i had were even at prime time daylight driving hours with the exception of one. I will send my prayers out to those unfortunate victims of the wreck both those injured and killed as well as their grieving families
