Knoxville (WVLT) - A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper that works out of Knoxville has been placed on administrative leave.
The Tennessee Department of Safety confirms Trooper Marty Nix was placed on administrative leave pending investigation on June 29th.
But, that spokesperson declined further comment citing the ongoing investigation.
Trooper Nix's attorney, James Bell told Volunteer TV News, "Mr. Nix is on administrative leave for what we consider something less than a sensational investigation."
Bell says his office is investigating and the state is investigating.
Bell says he does not anticipate any disciplinary action against Trooper Nix.
