Knoxville (WVLT) - Officers are looking for a man they say tried to rob a gas station in North Knoxville.

It happened just after 11:30 Saturday afternoon at the Conoco on Tazewell Pike.

Police say the suspect went behind the register and told the clerk to open the safe.

Investigators say he ran when she told him it would take ten minutes to open the safe.

Police describe the suspect as a six feet tall, black man with a muscular build, wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black hat.
