(WVLT) - A Roane County Sheriff's Deputy has lost his job after he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Roane County Sheriff Jack Stockton says says the Harriman Police Department arrested 52-year-old Deputy Randy Kirby on Sunday as he rode his motorcycle on Highway 27.
The sheriff says his department's rules prohibit officers drinking in public view in Roane County or committing acts that would bring reproach to the sheriff's office.
Kirby was charged back in 2004 with DUI, after allegedly crashing into two parked cars at a bar on U.S. 70.
The charge was later dismissed.
