Woman, 2 Children Killed in Roane Crash

Kingston, Roane County (WVLT) - A woman and her two small children are dead after an accident on highway 58 in Roane County.

Authorities say 27-year-old Heather Mitchell and her two children, two year old Alyssa and one year old Haley, were killed when Mitchell's Mazda pulled out in front of a cement truck around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon on Man's Hollow Road.

Mitchell's husband, 23-year-old Joey Mitchell, was also in the car.
He was injured, along with the driver of the cement truck, 45-year-old Harry Nash
Right now, authorities are trying to figure out if other factors may have been involved in the crash.

"It was raining, or had just rained at the time, and I'm not sure that was a factor at this point," Lt. Lucious Howard said.

Authorities say everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.

The truck driver is my uncle. He is totally torn up about this young mother and her childrens' lives being cut so short. My family's prayers go out to this young family.
