Knoxville Man Charged in Half Brother’s Death

Knoxville (WVLT) - A Knoxville teen is now facing first degree murder charges, after authorities say he turned himself in for allegedly stabbing his half brother to death.

Nineteen-year-old Deadrick Garrett appeared before a judge Monday morning.

Investigators say Garrett and 29-year-old Rashad Miller were involved in a fight before the deadly stabbing.

Miller was found in a bedroom in an apartment at the Windrush complex on Morrell Road Sunday morning with multiple stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at UT Medical Center.

No motive has been released at this time.

this is what of the most horrific situations. I am not a close friend of the family, but I do know two of the children. I also know the motive and if I was 19 and in a moment of rage, I cannot say that I would not of done the same thing. This is tragic and I can only hope and pray for the family that they get through this. It would be nice if society, itself, could not be so quick to judge. To the family -- you are in my prayers.
