Deadly Car Accident in Downtown Knoxville

Knoxville (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a one car deadly accident that happened early Friday morning.

The accident happened at about 3am Magnolia Avenue and near the intersection of Olive Street.

Police say the driver of a green Mitsubishi was speeding on Magnolia and hit a utility pole.

The driver was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released.
