LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT: Freezing temperatures will develop overnight, causing damage to flowers and plants that are left exposed to the cold. Be sure to bring in your potted plants before you go to bed, as lows drop into the lower to mid 20s...about 25 degrees for Knoxville and Oak Ridge.
Knoxville (WVLT) - The Tennessee Valley Authority will restart on an old project that could generate 2,300 jobs.
Despite, at times, heated debate and strong opposition by environmental groups, the TVA board voted to begin work on Watts Bar Reactor Number 2.
The project was about 60 percent finished when it was stopped 22 years ago.
TVA says the completion would cost about $2.5 billion, would take five years, and would take about 2,300 construction workers to complete.
Another question board members may discuss today, your electric rates.
We'll have more on that, tonight at 5:30
