HARRIMAN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Harriman man is wanted in Roane County on five counts of child rape, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added him to their "Top 10 Most Wanted" list in hopes of tracking him down.
The TBI says Douglas Patterson, 37, raped a 12-year-old girl.
"On May 11, 2009, the (Roane County) sheriff's office responded to a report of a rape of a 12-year-old female," a TBI news release states. "Two days later, Patterson confessed to sex crimes against his victim."
The TBI says Patterson was later indicted by a Roane County grand jury.
It's not clear why Patterson did not remain in police custody.
The TBI says Patterson has a criminal history dating back more than a decade that includes theft and drug charges.
He's described as a 6' tall white man weighing about 130 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on his right arm and back.
