KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The 90 year-old man struck by a car Wednesday morning died later that day, according to the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office.
An initial investigation indicated James L. Morgan was crossing the road along the 8400 block of Rutledge Pike just before 7:00 a.m. when the he was hit by a 2003 silver Dodge Neon.
The driver of the Neon, Alvaro Reyes-Hernandez told investigators he did not see Morgan until it was too late.
Authorities said they did not know the extent of Morgan's injuries.
Reyes-Hernandez was taken into custody and charged with driving without a license.
