Newfound Gap Crash Injures 3

Gatlinburg, Sevier County (WVLT) - Three people are being treated for injuries after an SUV accident in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Two were flown via LifeStar to UT Medical Center for treatment. A third was taken to Fort Sanders Sevier.

Rangers tell Volunteer TV the SUV, carrying five people, hit a tree on Newfound Gap Road about five miles from the Sugarlands Visitor Center.

Of the five people in the SUV, four people were initially trapped in the vehicle.

At this point, the road is still closed.
