Knoxville (WVLT) Three lanes of I-40 in West Knoxville closed for a short time Wednesday morning due to a dump truck accident.
The dump truck flipped over on I-40 westbound near the Walker Springs exit spilling sand across three lanes of travel.
During cleanup, traffic backed up westbound to I-640.
Kingston Pike, and other westside side streets also slowed as motorists left I-40 to avoid the accident backup.
Dave Foulk, from our radio partner WNOX, reports the truck was carrying sand.
Aerial video, shown ONLY on WVLT, shows the dump truck on it's side with the sand spilled across several lanes of the interstate.
There's no word on any injuries.
