Official: Knoxville Gains Flights To Southern Florida

Knoxville (WVLT) -- It's now official.

Beginning in November, Allegiant Air will offer non-stop jet service to Fort Lauderdale, Florida from McGhee Tyson.

Even better, Allegiant will offer introductory fares as low as $59 each way.

The new flights will operate three times a week, with service Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

All the flights will depart McGhee Tyson 7:35 pm and the return flights will depart Fort Lauderdale at 5:00 pm.

"We're always trying to expand options for out travelers in this region," said Richard Krieg from the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority. "We know have twenty two non stop destinations."

With today's announcement, Allegiant will now serve four destinations from Knoxville, including service to Las Vegas, Orlando and Tampa Bay.
