UT Student Dies While Playing Basketball

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Officials at the University of Tennessee say a student died while playing basketball at a campus recreational center.

Police said the 22-year-old graduate student was at the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building when he had a seizure and lost consciousness yesterday.

Authorities said there were no signs of anything out of the ordinary other than his medical distress.

Knoxville Fire Department emergency responders transferred him to the UT Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 7 p-m (Eastern).

The student has not been identified pending notification of his family
