Knoxville (WVLT) -- East Tennesseans have gotten down and dirty for charity this weekend.
The 7th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee.
Teams registered for $200 a piece and all the money goes to help seizure sufferers.
42 teams participated, 10 more than in last year's event.
"The proceeds go directly to assist people with seizures and epilepsy," said Roy Kruse from the Epilepsy Foundation. "If we were not able to meet this challenge, there would be obviously lot of people that would not get the medications and assistance they need. So this is very crucial to us. This is our main fundraiser and I can only say thank you again to the community for their support."
The Knoxville Fire Department donated the mud.
