(Monroe co.) WVLT - A Monroe County woman is now charged with criminally negligent homicide in connection with an overdose death of a 21-year-old man.

Authorities say Thursday, they saw 42-year-old Karen Ann Wallace performing CPR on the victim at an apartment in Vonore.

Wallace told officers she and James Dodson had snorted some hydrocodone pills earlier in the day.

Police say Wallace then said she took a nap and when she woke up, she saw Dodson lying on the couch and he was blue in the face.

Investigators say that's when Wallace called 9-1-1.

The investigation into Dodson's death continues.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, however, he did this to himself. Did she hold a gun to his head and force him to take drugs? The problem with society today is we want to blame someone else for our faults and failures. It is a sad situation, but he chose to associate with her, he chose to take illegal drugs and he had to pay the ultimate price, his life.

I was a friend of Mitch's "James" and I think it is so terribly sad that this happened to him. My prayers are with his family.
