(WVLT) - An 89-year-old woman in Shelby County has died as a result of the heat, raising the statewide toll to 14 deaths in the past two weeks.
The county medical examiner says the woman had a history of cardiac trouble but excessive heat contributed to her death.
Thirteen of the heat related deaths have been in Shelby County, with the other one in Wilson County.
