Knoxville (WVLT) -- Has there ever been a more unusual question for scientists to debate?
Some British scientists recently wondered if a dino could defeat a soccer dynamo in a foot race.
That's when they decided to use a computer models to clock the speed the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
What they discovered was that the T-Rex could easily outrun soccer star David Beckham and just about any other elite athlete.
It turns out the top speed of the carnivorous king of the dinosaur kingdom was 18 miles per hour.
Basically, if he felt like a snack on the soccer pitch, it's safe to say he was in no risk of going hungry.
No surprise there.
Beckham may bend it, but the T-Rex will always win it.
