University of Tennessee Starting QB Suffers Minor Injury in Practice

Knoxville (WVLT) Eric Ainge has jammed his pinky finger.

That word coming around 12:30 PM from UT Head Football Coach Phillip Fulmer in his LIVE news conference broadcasted LIVE on volunteertv.com.

Coach Fulmer says Ainge jammed it taking a snap in practice.

Fulmer says Ainge will be getting a few days off and will, hopefully, be ready to go for the Cal game.

Fulmer says Jonathan Crompton will be ready to go, if Ainge can't.

The Vols begin the season at 8:15 Saturday night against the University of California.

Last year the Vols beat Cal at Neyland Stadium 35-18 to kickoff the year.
