Seymour (WVLT) A plane skidded off the runway, over a road and into some trees and a field near the Seymour Air Park this afternoon.
The FAA confirms the incident took place around 2:45 this afternoon.
Spokesperson Kathleen Bergen says the pilot was the only person on board the PA-28, and was not injured.
Video from Volunteer TV's Eye in the Sky shows that plane suffered substantial damage.
The plane was on an IFR flight from Scott County, Tennessee to Seymour Air Park.
The single engine plane is registered to Archer Aircraft Company out of Blount County.
