Campbell County (WVLT) A 9-year old boy was flown to UT Medical Center after the tube he was riding on was hit by a personal watercraft on Norris Reservoir.

Gary Farwick, the owner of Flat Hollow Marina on Norris Reservoir, tells Volunteer TV News that the 9 year old boy was riding a tube near the marina Monday afternoon.

Farwick says, as the boat slowed for the no-wake zone outside the marina, a personal watercraft following the boat could not stop, and crashed into the tube.

Farwick says the boy was not run over, but was hit.

He says the boy was talking to medical personnel at the scene, but because of a potential head injury, he was flown on to UT Medical Center for treatment.

Farwick, identified the boy, but Volunteer TV will not release the name until authorities confirm it.

He says the family has a house boat up at Powell Valley.

TWRA officers are on the scene at the Flat Hollow Marina, but told Volunteer TV News, it was too early to release any details.
