Four Businesses Cited for Serving Alcohol to Minors

Knoxville (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department has cited four businesses for selling alcohol to someone that's underage.

Investigators say they conducted an alcohol compliance check last friday evening.

And out of the 30 locations they visited, they say the following four sold alcohol to an underage police cadet:

Fountain City Chevron Station on Broadway
The Maxx on Kingston Pike
Buffalo Wild Wings on Cumberland Avenue
Sapphire on South Gay Street

The citation is a misdemeanor and the establishment or server could face up to a year in jail.

If there is a second offense in the same year, the beer board could revoke or suspend the businesses' permit.

One violation should close them down for a period of time. Not wait a year for the beer board to act. A 2 week suspension of their license with the first infraction and then more with another and then revoked for a lonnng time.
