A/C Problems Force Early Dismissal at Bearden Middle

Knoxville (WVLT) When it's 9 am and it's already 90 degrees in your school, it's going to be a tough day to learn.

That was the case this morning over at Bearden Middle School in West Knoxville.

Knox County officials made the decision before 9 am to dismiss the students early.

Buses will run as soon as possible to get students home.

And parents can also pick up their students at the door.

School Spokesperson Russ Oaks says the problem with the air conditioning happened sometime over the holiday weekend.

Although it's back on and working, Oaks says with some classrooms already in the 90 degree range, it's going to take too long to cool.

Oaks says there will be classes at Bearden Middle tomorrow.
