Murder Suspect Caught in Campbell County

Caryville, Campbell County (WVLT/AP) - A McCreary County, Kentucky man wanted for killing his mother and shooting his father in the head, was arrested early Thursday morning in Campbell County, Tennessee.

Dustin Cordell, 22 of Pine Knot faces charges of evading arrest and resisting arrest.

Cordell was arrested after a high-speed pursuit by Kentucky State Police crossed state lines.

Kentucky State Police plan to file more charges against Cordell.

Trooper Don Trosper says 55-year-old Anthony Cordell called 911 early Thursday to report that his wife Kandi Cordell was shot in the head.

9-1-1 dispatchers heard gunshots during the call.

Kentucky State Police say Anthony was shot in the hear during the call.

Trosper says the father later identified his son as the shooter.

Trosper says investigators have not determined a motive.
