Sevier Co Man Charged with Trying to Kill Wife

Sevierville (WVLT) A Sevier County man's in jail tonight, charged with trying to kill his wife.

Deputies were called to Kim Stepp's parents' home on Ironwood Drive in Kodak last night.

Stepp told police her estranged husband, Chris Stepp, stabbed her several times in the head, torso, and arm.

Chris Stepp was arrested this morning in Hamblen County and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Vandalism.

He's in the Hamblen County Jail in lieu of 200-thousand dollars bond.

Sevier deputies say Kim Stepp received 300 stitches close the knife wounds, but she has already been released from the hospital.
