Knoxville (WVLT) For about 28 hours, some businesses on The Strip had to turn away customers who only carry plastic.
Around 10 a-m Thursday, businesses had to post "Cash Only" signs after a service disruption left them unable to use phone lines or credit card machines.
The general manager at Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop says they lost almost $2,000 dollars yesterday.
And on top of money loss, she says the disruption has been bad for business.
Shamir Peshewa says, "I don't know if they're gonna call back, I don't know if they're gonna eat here again, cause they didn't eat here the first time."
Phone lines were back up and running around 2:00 this afternoon.
