$9.7 million investment adds 26 jobs to Morristown plant

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- With a $9.7 million investment into its operations, Sonoco Flexible Packing plans to add 26 jobs to its Morristown plant.

The company made the announcement today along with the Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner, Bill Hagerty.

The investment also includes improvements to their facility and adds a new press to their flexible packaging division.

Sonoco provides packaging for consumer and industrial products, and have operations in 35 countries.

Hagerty said in a statement released by the State of Tennessee, “In today’s globally competitive environment, Tennessee continues to be a solid choice for incumbent industries to grow and expand."
