Detroit Airport Scare Doesn't Slow Knoxville Flights

Knoxville (WVLT) A suspicious package that shut down an area of an airport terminal in Detroit did not slow flights bound for there from Knoxville.

The all-clear was finally given around 11:15 am, and business returned to normal.

According to WDIV-TV, the package was found on the third level of McNamara Terminal, a terminal that handles mostly Northwest Airlines flights at their Detroit hub.

Customer service representatives from Northwest Airlink in Knoxville confirm that the 11:15 departure to Detroit left the gate on time.

The 11:55 inbound flight from Detroit is due to arrive early, and that flight is on time to head to Memphis.

A 4:10 departure to Detroit is also on time.

That prompted an evacuation of an area that includes where people arrive and depart the terminal.
