Sevierville (WVLT) His decision's not final, and it won't be until the autopsy report's in.

But right now, District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn says three deputies involved in an on the job shooting last week did the right thing.

34 year old Michael Shane Price was killed in the incident.

"I've reviewed the facts and circumstances of this case after consulting with the TBI, and I've determined thus far that the officers involved followed proper procedures and guidelines," Dunn told Volunteer TV's Stephen McLamb.

Dunn says he still is waiting on the autopsy reports before he makes a final decision on the case.

According to police reports, Sevier County deputies were called to Price's sister's home on McCleary Road in Seymour on Tuesday, September 4th for a report of a disturbance.

Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals says despite numerous warnings from deputies, Price didn't drop his gun and instead pointed it toward officers.

He was shot and killed.

Deputies Jason Madison, Leslie Franklin, and Sergeant Darrell Lee were put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the TBI investigation.

I am disturbed by the fact that this man was shot and killed even though he never actually fired on the officers. If he had, then I suppose it would be considered self-defense. What do you call this? If the actions taken are within what the law requires then I think some changes need to be made.
