Knoxville (WVLT) A man and woman indicted on two counts of armed bank robbery have reached separate plea agreements with federal prosecutors.
Michael Scott Bumpas, 25, pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of armed bank robbery in connection with a heist at the BB&T Bank in Rocky Hill on May 3rd.
According to the indictment, Bumpas fled through the woods where a witness saw him get into a Volkswagen.
That witness called police and Bumpas and his alleged partner Kirsten Webb were nabbed by Knox County Sheriff's deputies.
As part of her plea agreement, Webb pleaded guilty to another bank robbery at the SunTrust Bank at Kingston Pike and Northshore Drive on April 3rd.
Both Webb and Bumpas face up to 25 years in prison when they are sentenced in December.
