Knoxville (WVLT) A great place to grow a business, and a great place for a business to stay.
That's what Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam said this morning at the announcement of Scripps Networks major expansion of its worldwide headquarters.
Seeds for the Knoxville-based leader in lifestyles media were planted in 1994 with the start-up of HGTV.
The three-year, $32 million project will bring Scripps Interactive Division under the same roof with programming and production.
"So being in the same place, we'll be interacting with those people more even on a daily basis and even just in passing and saying what's going on in your world,” Menesa Prichett of Scripps Networks says. “We'll feel so much more a part of everything instead of segmented."
Scripps officials say the 150 thousand square foot addition will enhance its ever expanding interactive division.
