Kathy Griffin Reacts to Miracle Theater and Catholic League Criticism

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (AP) - Kathy Griffin asks "Am I the only Catholic left with a sense of humor?"

She's reacting to members of the Catholic League who were upset over the thank-you speech she gave when she won her creative arts Emmy.

In accepting the Emmy for "My Life on the D-List," Griffin had said that many winners thank Jesus for their awards.

In her words: "I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus."

She also held up her Emmy and made an off-color remark about Jesus.

Another group also is upset with Griffin.

The Miracle Theater placed a full-page ad earlier this week in USA Today saying they consider it an honor to stand for Jesus.

While KG's comments may have been offensive, the hypocrisy of the Miracle Theater is even more disgusting. The ad was placed as a way to drum up business. Don't be fooled...this ad was a business decision for an entertainment group. Supporters of the ad have claimed that the group is "trying to spread the word of Christ." Rubbish. This is not spreading the word of Christ. It's capitalizing on a profit-making opportunity by sugar coating a wrong-doing by an ACTOR as an attack on the Christian faith. I really hope people see the selfish ulterior motive of the Miracle Theater group. It is nothing more than an attempt to manipulate Christians into giving even more of their hard earned money to their show. Maybe they need to fund their next brilliant idea...a TV commercial airing during KG's show. Sorry folks, the only winner here is USA Today!

Wow. Good job miracle group. Way to pay almost 100,000 to protest someone using their right to free speech. "What would Jesus do?" Probably donate that money to a worthwhile cause instead of trying to create a sensation to get his name in the paper. Easy to see through this ploy.

Memo to all you sanctimonious hypocrites who call themselves righteous "Christians": YOU ARE NOT GOD! So, WHAT RIGHT HAVE YOU TO JUDGE, AND WHO CARES SQUAT WHAT YOU THINK?! Only HE can judge Kathy, and my guess is he'd say "I'm tired of them invoking MY name for their worldly accomplishments too! Get a life!

Remember that if those comments were anti-muslim she would be dead right now. Shame on the people making fun of Christians for being offended. They responded with class. I respect the rights and feelings of non-christians and they should respect christians.

Jesus also said "get a life people". She's a comedian, enjoying her right to free speech. If you dont want to watch her work then don't. BIG DEAL. And please, all this holy-roller stuff is making me constipated.

"I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun"

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour and it made me mad what She said but, I am praying that she gets born again, and I will not be watching anything she does ever again!

Jesus said: " Words reflect the content of one's heart. " kathy spoke with her heart; by this she exposes her heart filled with hatred towards Jesus Christ and his followers. Kathy, Jesus loves you and he came for people like you and me; he loves sinners but detests sin.
