A homeless camp will be destroyed Monday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It's the site of not only a homeless camp but a hot bed of crime. Now, a dilapidated building is coming down.

This comes after three recent murders.

Police stepped in - forcing the company that owned the building to take action. Now, the area is roped off and crews are coming in Monday to tear down the building.

"We always make sure the buildings are clear in areas that are dilapidated and no homeless folks are in there when we start the process," said Director of Public Service, David Brace.

A public meeting is set for May 31st in the City County Building.
