Alcoa mourns the death of a long-time police officer

ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT)- The Alcoa Police department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Police Chief Ken Burge says that Officer James Edward Bowman, passed away on Saturday.

In a release, Burge says Bowman, a 45-year-old who has been with the department since 2000, died of natural causes.

Bowman has served as a patrol officer and as part of the K-9 division.

Burge says of Bowman, “He was a fine officer who loved his family, his career, and this community, He will be missed by so many.”
