KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) Two fundraising events helped Local 8 News Anchor Amanda Hara raise more than $1,000 for East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
"Painting With a Twist" in West Knoxville hosted a painting for a purpose class. Dozens of people showed up Saturday night to paint a peacock, and support Amanda Hara's efforts to raise money for the hospital.
Several people who came have personal experiences with East Tennessee Children's Hospital and wanted to give back.
The event raised $1,000. Barry Jenkins lead the class, and is selling his masterpiece to raise even more money. Contact the newsroom if you're interested in purchasing the painting.
Tin Roof Rocky Hill also helped the effort, donating $100. Bartenders and servers pitched in their own money as well, and patrons also helped the cause.
The "Dancing With the Knoxville Stars" event is set for March 22nd.
