Sheriff sues Anderson Co. Mayor over overcrowded jails

CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A fight between the Anderson County Mayor and sheriff is now in the hands of the court.

Sheriff Paul White filed papers against the mayor.

It's all over jail overcrowding to alleviate it, he said needs to hire more than a dozen new jailors.

The county commission approved moving the process to the next step--but that needs the county mayor's signature.

A final decision will be made on Tuesday.
