Angel Tree kicks off in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Salvation Army kicked off their Angel Tree event Wednesday morning.

More than 2,000 kids in Knox County alone are registered to be adopted this Christmas season.

The event took place at the Sunsphere with special guests and one coming all the way from the North Pole.

Santa along with the help of East Tennessee "Elves" are helping kids in need.

Corporations like pilot showed their support by adopting hundreds of children at once.

This year most kids are asking for bicycles, hunger game items and books.
