KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A teen accidentally shot himself in the leg on Monday, just blocks away from the scene of a drive-by shooting overnight that sent two men to the hospital, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.
The teenager, who was not identified, was carrying the gun in his pocket and playing with it when it 'just went off,'
The shooting happened around noon near Montgomery Village in the 4700 block of Joe Louis Road.
Just hours earlier, Jared Riddle and Tiberius Norries were shot in a drive-by shooting about four blocks away. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police are still searching for the shooter.
