KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Time to clean out that attic and see what's down in the cellar because "Antiques Roadshow" is coming to Knoxville. The popular PBS show will visit the Knoxville Convention Center on Saturday, July 13, 2013. The episode is expected to air sometime during the show's 18th season, which starts in January of next year.
"This event is a huge opportunity for Knoxville to gain more national attention," said Knoxville Convention Center General Manager Mary Bogert. "Knoxville has such a rich history, and I'm excited to see the value of the items the ‘Antiques Roadshow' will uncover."
Tickets are free, but you must apply for them online or by postcard. All requests must be submitted by April 8, 2013. Tickets will arrive by mail around three weeks before the event. No tickets will be available at the door.
Each ticket holder will need to brig at least one item to be appraised with them. Each person is allowed to bring up to two items.
"We expect a large turnout from the Knoxville area, as well as the surrounding region to take advantage of the free antiques appraisals and the chance to be on national television," said Bogert.
The event will begin at 8:00 a.m., with guests admitted hourly according to the times listed on the ticket stubs. Ticket holders are asked to arrive no later than 30 minutes before the time listed on their stub.
