Arson charges for fire at north Knoxville apartment

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man was arrested for starting two fires at a north Knoxville apartment complex Tuesday evening.

Thirty-eight year old Steven Gifford has been charged with Aggravated Arson, according to the Knoxville Fire Dept.'s Fire Explosive Investigation Unit.

Earlier that day, firefighters responded to an apartment at Minvilla Manor, 447 North Broadway, where two fires were discovered in a closet. They were able to put the fires out before it spread.
