Arson investigators respond to vacant house fire off Chapman Hwy.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A fire at a vacant home on Chapman Hwy. shut down one lane of Chapman Hwy. early Monday afternoon, according to the Knoxville Fire Dept. (KFD).

Firefighters responded to the house, 6609 Chapman Hwy., shortly after noon when a passing motorist noticed a building in the woods near Ellis Rd. on fire.

Crews were able to knock down the blaze within an hour. While they worked southbound traffic on Chapman Highway was reduced to one lane.

Arson investigators have been called to the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
