BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong announced Friday that two people were in custody and charged with criminal homicide in connection with the homicide of 66-year-old Arthur Walter Downey Sunday night.
Trevor Lloyd Segars, 20, of Maryville, and Colin Louis Blades, 21, of Maryville were charged with criminal homicide. Segars and Blades were jailed on a $250,000 bond each and will face their charges in Blount County General Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. September 30th.
Segars and Blades were taken into custody late Thursday following the culmination of a four-day investigation that led Sheriff’s deputies to the two men.
Additional charges are pending against both men, and other individuals could be charged.
At around 12:30 Monday morning, Sheriff’s deputies responded to Arthur Downey’s residence after family members found Downey unresponsive in his residence on Turkey Pen Branch Road.
The investigation is continuing.
