MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- It's a parents worst nightmare, the death of their child. It's a nightmare that Amanda Moore lives everyday after her 16-year-old daughter was killed in a car crash. But now, she's found a "sweet" way to cope.

Almost every night after work and all weekend you'll find Amanda Moore baking in her kitchen.

Amanda Moore said "It gives me a bit of break where I'm not so sad and so depressed over Amelia not being here."

Her 16 year-old daughter Amelia was killed after a car crossed the center line on a Highway 411 and hit her head on.

"She was only a couple of minutes from the house. As a mother, you'd expect your child to get in a fender bender or get a flat tire. You don't expect your child to died in the middle of the afternoon." said Amanda

Amanda tried counseling but it didn't help her work through the pain; instead she started baking and found relief from making cupcakes that bring smiles to her customer's faces.

"It's called Amelia'n Cupcakes. My friends said that my treats were so good that I should start selling them. I didn't think much of it, just thought they were trying to be nice. However, when I got order in from people I didn't know-- I knew I was on to something." said Amanda

She works a 8:00-5:00 job, has a 2 year-old daughter and still finds time to come home and bake every night.

"It's one happy positive thing to do. I'm making other people happy! Who doesn't get a cupcake and smile?" Amanda said

A truly difficult time that Amanda gets through with support from her friends, family, devoted husband and a hobby that makes other smile.

Amelia'n Cupcakes has cupcakes of all kinds and everything is baked fresh to order!
