Basketball players ride donkeys to raise money for fire department

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The New Market Volunteer Fire Department took on the Knox County Sheriff's Office in a wild game of donkey basketball.

It's a twist on the game to raise money for the New Market Fire Department.

"It helps pay for the trucks and gas in the trucks and for insurance and stuff like that," Captain Sammy Solomon says.

He says they raised between $1,000-$2,000 Thursday night.

Captain Solomon says they've done this once before in 2000, but thought they would bring the idea back for money to keep the fire department running.

Make sure you watch the video to see just how the played. Making a basket while riding a donkey looks a little challenging!
