Weather Alert: Strong to severe storms are expected tonight

Bean Station Police Chief out, under investigation

BEAN STATION, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Bean Station Police Chief Phillip Robinette is no longer with the department after his son was arrested and now faces multiple charges.

According to Mayor Terry Wolfe, Robinette's tenure ended on December 15. He is at the center of an internal investigation.

His son Nathaniel Robinette was charged with criminal impersonation, false imprisonment and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The Hawkins County Sheriff's Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest. The Bean Station Police Department has also conducted an internal investigation.

Sergeant Bryce Justice has been appointed interim Police Chief for the Bean Station Police Department.
