KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knoxville Police are trying to figure how a man's body ended up in the water near Volunteer Landing.

A person found the body just after 3:00 on Friday afternoon, and called 911.

Police say he was located floating in the 1st Creek spillway into Ft. Loudoun Lake. Police say he had been in the water for several days.

The medical examiner arrived to take pictures, and firefighters lifted the body out of the water.

Right now, the cause of death is unclear. Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma on the body.
