Boy in intensive care after near drowning incident

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Family friends say an eight-year-old boy pulled from the water at Clark Center Park Saturday has passed away.

Brayden Pearson died Monday at East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

A fund has been created to help the family.

An eight-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he almost drowned in Oak Ridge on Saturday.

Oak Ridge Fire Chief Darryl Kerley says the boy was swimming with his family at the Clark Center Park when they noticed he was missing.

Shortly after family members found him unconscious and started giving him CPR.

Rescue crews arrived and flew him to East Tennessee Children's Hospital, where he is in intensive care.
