KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A couple looking for fun on a riverboat, but instead was derailed by a train on Volunteer Landing.
Police say the driver of a Kia tried to cross the tracks, and was struck by, of all things, the Three Rivers Rambler passenger train.
The train was only going about 7 mile per hour, but had 150 people on board. Fortunately, no one on the train or in the car were injured.
After the brief delay, the passengers on the train got back on their holiday ride.
Crews from the train say the 80 year-old locomotive will be just fine.
KPD says no charges are expected to be filed.
