SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Sevierville Fire Department has set up a day for parents to get their child's safety seat inspected.
Firefighters will be on hand at the fire station on Collier Drive to help parents make sure everything is OK with their car seats. Firefighters also plan on giving fire safety tips and demonstrate the proper use of fire extinguishers and smoke alarms.
Nationally, over 90% of child car safety seats are improperly installed. In fact, over 40% of child fatalities in traffic accidents are due to improperly installed child car safety seats.
The Child Car Safety Seat Inspection will be from 5:00PM-8:00PM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Collier Drive Sub-Station at 423 Collier Drive in Sevierville.
