STRAWBERRY PLAINS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Time to lace those sneakers, grab a ball, and start playing.
Carter Middle School opened its brand new gymnasium on Monday. The new 17,500 sq. foot gym will hold up to 1,100 people. It also features two classrooms, locker rooms, and, of course, a concession stand.
School officials, including Dr. Jim McIntyre, will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony Monday evening.
Right after the ceremony the will host a an Insight Session. The sessions, which are part of the district's Knox Schools 2020 program, offer administrators "critical" insight, input, and feedback from teachers, students, parents, and the community.
They are asked what they think is good about the school, what's bad, and where the school should be in the next five years.
